Are you running premium fuel? It wouldn't knock your mileage down that much, but it would matter.
Are you usually running in Normal, Eco, or Sport? Because those will change your shift points and also affect your mileage.
I get about 15.5 avg on factory tires in my 2018 platinum max 4x4. Add in your mud tires and the 12.5 isn't terribly surprising. Especially if you occasionally enjoy using all 400 of your horses.
Yes, there are people on here that will swear they get 950mpg. But I think they are the exception, not the rule.
What he said, except our trips are all between 1-6 miles. I’ll just add that there seems to be a large jump in fuel efficiency once the transmission warms up.Most of the driving around town we do is super short trips. Like 1 mile to the store and back. 1 mile to the school and back. Doesn't even give it time to warm up really and mileage is terrible, 13-15. If we drive it longer and get it warmed up it does way better. Longer around town trips see it hit more like 18+. Highway we are seeing 22+. Towing the 5k RV trailer and we see 12-15 on the highway, occasionally better depending on wind and how level the trip is.
I know for sure mud tires on my jeep drop me 1-2 mpg everywhere. Going bigger also drops it.
On the highway I can squeak out between 9.9L / 100 kms and 10.9L / 100 kms (or 28.5 to 25.9 mpg) driving about 110-120 km/h. In town I lose bit and get about 20.9 mpg or about 13.5L / 100 kms.
Wait...gallons are different depending on where you are? I knew we Yanks were beating our own path with the imperial system rather than the metric, but I had no idea things like gallons were different. You are using the old Canadian gallon which does not compare the the US gallon the other guys are using. A Canadian gallon is 4.546 litres where the US gallon is only 3.785 litres.
Using the US gal these are the results.
9.9 l/100km is 23.75 mpg
10.9l/100km is 21.58 mpg
13.5l/100km is 17.42 mpg
