Hello. I am new to this forum and I thought I would introduce myself. I have a 2000 Expedition XLT 4wd with the 5.4. I purchased this used in 2005 and it has performed well for me. The family and I travel to the outerbanks almost every summer and enjoy taking it on the beach. The past two years we have towed a 20' yamaha jet boat down with us with no major issues. It has also seen its fair share of some major snowfall here in Maryland. Love the 4wd. I admit I have put very little time or effort into it since I have owned it other than waxing and general maintenance.

My primary toy has been my 89 Mustang LX. It has a slightly:naughty: modded 306. It is a weekend warrior that is driven to the track and has run a best of 10.44 @ 129mph on drag radials. That was even run through high flow cats.... which is very rare on drag cars @ this power level.

But I need to now turn some of my attention to my Expedition. I have begun some mods recently. I have installed slotted/drilled rotors to replace my warped stock rotors. I have also installed a new stereo system. I have purchased PMT upper and lower control arms to replace my stock rusted ones. Also purchased some Edelbrock IAS shocks to replace my stock well used ones. Hope to install these soon as soon as the weather allows. I believe my next mod will be front and rear ring & pinion change. I am debating between 4.10's and 3.73's. I would like to start upping the HP also..... but carefully planning this as I need to maintain the reliability.

Well I can go on and on.... but will wrap this post up and get into more details in future post.

Thanks guys. I did get my new control arms and shocks installed this weekend. Removing the old control arms was a pain in the @$$. My impact wrench would not budge a few of the existing bolts. 600 ft lbs?? I fought the passenger side with a long breaker bar for an hour or so and finally got it removed. Then on to the drivers side and realized the front bolt on the lower would not come out with out dropping the fuel tank . I realized my band saw might fit.... so out with the band saw... cut the bolt right off. Took off the other bolt with the band saw. Cut through the nut and all. Much easier to remove. Should have used this method with the other side and would have finished in no time. Controls are now done and they look good... if you happen to be under the truck. Shocks went on with out to much trouble. The only issue I had was with the lower bolts on the front. Was very rusted and had to fight to remove from bushing. But compared to the control arms it was a breeze. Expedition now rides nice and no more bouncing. Woo hoo.... now onto other projects.

Walnut. I did check it out.. It may actually help with motor mods I would like to do in the future. Its on my list :). I feel the gears would be the best bang for the buck but the programmer would be a lot easier. Hummm.

Thanks KWT2000. I see a lot of recommendations for the edge cs... Is it that noticable of a difference? I will have to take some pictures and post them. Don't have many of the Expy. I do have a few pictures in my garage but you can not see much. It looks very stock though :) but clean. My mustang for that matter looks stock on the exterior. Gets a lot of sleeper comments at the track because of this and the quite exhaust.

How do you post pictures in a thread??

use a picture hosting site such as photobucket and post the link and the picture shows up...

i really liked the edge cs that i had but some jack wagon stole it out of my truck...

im running the jet program 4 power now and they are very similar on the increase power and both have 3 power levels and can adjust shift points and such

but the edge is right at your finger tips which was nice

Welcome Tom (one newb to another). My other toy is also a mustang, but a newer 2003 with all the goodies.. Unfortunately it has only ran a 10.69 @ 131 on the old setup and I should hopefully hit 9's (full weight) it's next time out.
