well I got a cash offer of 6500.00 for my 2000 expy 5.4 with 105k. I think its a fair price...I personally feel its worth more like maybe 8,000.00 only cuz its so clean and all the toys....I just dont know what to do...the other thing is, its a family member and dont know how I will feel about how I THINK he will take care of it....this is a tough decision....I never thought he could come up with the cash...HELP GUYS...

Do you NEED to sell it? Do you WANT to sell it? If it runs well, and you want to keep it, keep it. I know the feeling about not thinking others will take care of it. I sold my EXTREMELY RARE GMC Typhoon to a guy I knew wouldn't love it like I did. But I NEEDED to sell it. At that point, it doesn't matter how well the next owner will take care of it.

Personally, I'd keep it. It is 5 years older than mine, and has 2k less miles. I'm sure you have babied it, and if you don't NEED to sell it, Don't!

Best of luck with your decision.

Only you really know but from your photos posted and threads your appears to be in mint condition. Fresh paint even.

If you really don't want or need to sell I would keep it. At least ask for a number you would not regret selling it for unless you really must sell.

I agree with the above. I would never let a family member buy my truck unless special circumstances are present, such as they just got their license and are looking for a good high school rig. It is YOUR truck, and as has been said, unless you have to, or want to sell it, I would hang onto it.

family member has straight cash so that shouldnt be a prob...if they wanted to do payments then i'd be against it...if u want $8k...then tell him $8k...if u dont want to sell it...SIMPLE...dont sell it...lastly...about how much TLC he will give...it will no longer be ur truck so u really shouldnt be concerned about how he treats it/do to the truck...thats my take...if u arent ready to part dont sell...honestly...the bells and whistles that you put on arent going to get you anymore cash if you go buy KBB or any other vehicle price guide...so it will come down to if the person is willing to pay for what you added to the truck...i cant added $3k to my truck value at a dealership because it as rims...

I wasn't saying no to family members because of payment, My concern is if something breaks in the truck, It can cause tension or worse.

thanks for the input...the wife really needs a newer car and after what I just put her through..she deserves it...she drives the truck but dont like the size...she would like an Escape or Edge. Money is always an issue these days....dont have to sell and shes not giving me any pressure...it is mint and pristine..rust free california truck and has never seen winter...I dunno...the other thing is after my divorce all I had left is this truck and a TV...so its like all I got left..and its the first used vehicle that I had that is as equal or nicer to anything new I have had...Oh Geeeeze...

I'm partial to the 1st gen. You have invested alot of time, effort and money into your truck and it looks great. I vote KEEP IT.

Is this yours and her only vehicle? If not, why not sell yours, you drive the expy and purchase a smaller rig for her?

If so, what would be the downside of having 2 vehicles? It makes no sense selling a vehicle for way less than it's worth (toys and sentiment included) unless you HAVE to...
