I wanted to upgrade the audio in my 07 eddie bauer. I have a 5ch infinity amp I will be connecting to the factory head unit. I wanted to replace the front speakers because they sound mediocre at best. I found 6x9 infinity components (with separate tweeter) for 80 bucks. I figured I would just enlarge the hole or make an adapter ring like my other fords.
After pulling out that atrocity that ford put in the front door, I realized it's bolted to the regulator assembly and there's a piece of metal behind it, not sure if it is part of the regulator or structural, but it is too shallow.
Can this metal be cut or do I need to find a shallower speaker? If so, what's a decent bolt in model?
