Hey everyone, I've been an Expedition owner for 3 weeks now !

Great Truck, Got it for $2950 with 131,000 miles, interior and exterior is mint,
Ive been doing some odds an ends fixing some little things that are wrong with it but all in all its been great so far !

I do have a question. I have read about the fire issues concerning the cruise control switch, Is this something that a ford dealership will still address or has too much time passed ( 14 years ) ? In the meantime, can I just unplug the harness from the piece that i connected to the master cylinder?

Nice and congrats. I bought my 2000 brand new. It now has 295,000 miles and going strong. Only major problems that I have had the entire time was as follows:

1) Had to replace the timing chain at 281,000.
2) Just had a bad PCM relay.

The rest of everything else has been maintenance related. I change the oil every 6k miles. I use Mobil 1, 5w-30 and have always used a Motorcraft oil filter.

The one thing I have to keep a watch on is the oil level. The engine has a tendency to burn oil.

When you get the chance... post some pics!

Regarding the cruise control switch, I believe I had that fixed by the dealer many years ago.

Enjoy!

Regarding the ford cruise control. The dealership is still obligated to address as I checked and it was an official recall. It is recall 05S28 and was issued in July 2005. I had mine done in August 2005.

okay, to tell if the recall has been done. look at your master cyl. find the pressure switch at the front of it. follow the wire of that connector. if it goes back to an identical connector then the recall has been done. if not take it to a dealer.

also, there may be a blue tag on that splice to say that the recall has been done.
