Ordered new 2022 Platinum in Oct. original build date was 2/23/22 this was changed to 3/23 dealer that new build date will hold. Anybodys guess

The 2023 will be out before these folks receive the 2022's they ordered.

Well, I guess I will take whichever one shows up first, Ford Expy Platinum Max 4x4 or 2023 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro 4x4.

Or maybe cancel and wait until all this crap is sorted out and try for 2023 model.

Damn, if third row room wasn't smaller and it wasn't riding on a solid axle...I think more about a sequoia. Them things look good.

Toyota's already having turbo wastegate issues on the new Tundras that require removal of the cab from the frame to replace...except they don't have the parts to replace them, and don't know when they'll have them. Since the Sequoia (I'm assuming) won't be able to remove the cab from the frame like the Tundra, it means they're going to have to remove the engine instead. This, along with the lack of IRS, no flat load floor, and no sliding second row, means the new Sequoia is a hard pass for me, for now at least.

The problem with any of the short full size SUVs like Sequoia and QX80 is the lack of trunk space with the 3rd row up. The only option for a large family is the full length Ford or GM. I guess there is the Grand Wagoneer as well now, but Chrysler it out to lunch on the pricing and the design although subjective is very ugly and lacks the sleek lines. I could be wrong but seeing a wagoneer as part of some kind of motorcade/security detail would look odd, as compared to a Ford or GM.

Just starting to look at a replacement for our '15 Yukon XL Denali. Have an '18 F150 KR so like that trim level. Son sells Toyota's and obviously is encouraging us to look at new Sequoia. I'm hesitating at this for same reasons you highlighted.

Sequoia has nothing in common with the Expedition, apples and oranges. I ordered my Limited Max Stealth Performance on 11-02-2021, scheduled to be built 03-24-2022 after being delayed 3 times. Dealer says it will be built this week, we will see.

They are in the same class and are direct customers from two top selling manufactures with dimensions inches from eachother. They are def apples to apples.

The new 2023 Sequoia is a total compromise from front to back.

Engine- their 3.5L TT didn’t have the power and torque to match the competition, so they had to throw in the hybrid motor and battery pack. They could have used the hybrid to get much better MPG, but they chose to use it to boost their tow rating.

3rd Row - solid rear axle means less leg room to start with then they had to put the batteries on top of that. The load floor is now much higher than the competition and a foot of cargo space is lost for the entire length of the vehicle with all the seats down. You have a flimsy 1/2” plywood and carpet shelve to make it level in the rear, what a joke that is. That will snap the first time you try to load anything heavy through the rear hatch.

I had high hopes for the new Sequoia but it just doesn’t work for me.

I have a 19 Limited Max, replacing with a 2022 Limited Max Stealth Performance. I have also had 2 Yukon XL Denali's, 15,17. Comparing a Toyota of any kind to the FORD or GM is a waste of time. Both the Ford and GM are GIGANTIC. We travel all the time, wife 2 teenage daughters, and we have enough room for all their shit, maybe 10 bags and more. I think I could fit the Toyota in the trunk as well. Not to mention, I can lease a 2022 FULLY LOADED 4x4 EXP MAX Stealth P for $965 per month, NO MONEY DOWN, 36 months, 12k per year including tax. The 65K Toyota is over $1000 PM and the Yukon is $1800 PM. I will stick with FORD all day long, worth the wait. ROFL
