Just received my new high amp alternator from Ohio generator. Very excited about this. Here's a pic of the alternator and spec sheets. Maybe someone can decipher what all that means. Lol

You get you pay for as far as I'm concerned when it comes to this types of things. I wasn't going to trust some eBay garbage. Besides the one your showing me is 200 amps. This alternator tested at over 300 amps. That's where the price difference come in. Not to mention 1 yr warranty against defects.

What kind of questions do you have... I have some questions why you would need 300 amps. I would do it if running 2 batteries and have a lot of accessories running. Just seems a little pricey for excess. And 300 amps is at 6000 rpm! You might wanna save a few bucks for the excess fuel. Jmo so no offense.

Not really sure why ppl are concerned how I spend my money. If I didn't have it to blow I wouldn't. Lol. As far as why. Why not? Why not just set it up so I can add any accessory I want now and not have to worry. From what I've heard with these l7's they are gonna hit seriously hard, so why not have my truck set up properly to handle this. Jmo

Thank u. That's the info I needed. I will call them tomorrow to,find out the pulley ratio. I knew that didn't sound right to me. I actually contacted dc first but they were out of stock and didn't know when they would be available again. I needed mine now. Lol

Have you looked through your audio manuals or contacted the manufactures on the current draw for your amplifiers and head-unit? Add those up, along with about 60amps for the vehicle applications, to see if 180-200amps at idle is enough without dropping the current?

Someone told me about the 60amps are needed for the vehicle so do not quote me…

Just in case, I make sure no accessories are running; i.e. A/C, heat, and head/running lights. Neutral and a little gas pedal for some higher RPMs will produce some more power. This is why I’m skeptical about upgrading my exhaust system.

What type of problems do you have... I have some problems why you would need 300 built-in amplifiers already designed in. I would do it if handling 2 battery load up power load up and have a lot of components handling. Just seems a little expensive for unwanted. And 300 built-in amplifiers already designed in is at 6000 rpm! You might want to secure a few cash for the unwanted petrol. I mean no offense & disrespect :;)

Jeeeeeez ppl, I don't get what the big deal is. I could see if he was running 6 alternators to push 2 10's and being like wtf? But he's got a good sized system and if you read the rest of the posts in this thread he said he wanted to be able to add accessories without any worries, it's called planning ahead and being prepared. Not to mention it's his truck, his $, and his prerogative. Just sayin.
