New bumper

i want to make a bumper for my truck. im tired of people cutting me off so i want them to hit me. haha no im kidding. i like the look of tube bumpers and flat plate bumpers, not sure which one to build. i want something to put a lot of lights on so im going to make it my self, but what size steal and what size tube should i use?

id go with bull bumper....think thats what its called.the center one over front plate.

anyway...the one on my pic below is about 2 in pipe......i feel the bull crash bar....should be twice as thick.

i like the one that came with mine but other style i like better...

i have a bull bar. im trying to sell it if anyone wants it. but i want a completely new bumper. take off the stock one and put a tube one. just didnt know how big the steal should be.

i know this is not the info you want but its all i got.
if i did make myself a bumper it would be 2 1/2 in thick. the metal is your choice but think about waight, durability, and cost.

okay those r great ideas. here in SD everyone who has a truck has a custom bumper and im going to go to school to be a welder so i wanted to practice and make my own.

as soon as i save up some money im gettin one from ironbull. i just wish they made a bumper that hugs the grille a little more like my brush guard with removable light guards. none of the companies i have looked at offer removable headlight guards and they look like they stick out too far. maybe once you go to school panda we can fab some winch bumpers specifically designed for our front ends.

yeah hopefully. thats what ive always wanted to do was make bumpers and create stuff. ive always wanted to open my own business in the off road industry and make custom roll cages to bumpers. im going to start going to school for welding hopefully in January if i can find a school around here and dont have to move. but making a custom winch bumper for our front ends would be sick. as long as it fit our lines perfectly too.

i just want a bumper/grille guard combo that is strong enough to withstand hitting a deer yet, be subtle like our brush guards. some of those bumpers out there on the superduty trucks are just ridiculous. when in the hell do you need that much bumper unless you are going head to head with a semi truck?

i see what you mean. so lets make them out of titanium. haha but we should make a bumper brush guard combo. not one thats to big just one enough to take out a smart car if they get in our ways.

i agree, smart car size is just about right! hahaha. titanium would be awesome, and lightweight!!!!! and nobody else would have one except us.

exactly. my uncle made a bumper for his jeep out of 3/16 steel. its hard to get a dent. he took out a mustang with it. im serious. only blue paint on it. so i want something like that.
