Greetings,

I am the new owner of a 1997 Ford Expedition. I noticed that the check engine light was not on when I turned the ignition to on (as in the on position but not started). I ran a check to discover that there was indeed a malfunction. The lights seems to have been disabled or burnt out. The problem is a p0141 (O2 Sensor, Bank 1, sensor 2). I got a great deal on it (well below book) so I do suspect some problems.

However, I'd like to know how to get the check engine light working again. I've never encountered this. I reckon someone disconnected it. I also noticed that the inspection certificate is labeled as OBD and not OBDII which means a previous owner cheated inspection. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

most likely you will been to pull the instrument cluster and replace the bulb Which may have been removed or burnt out You can check on youtube for videos on removing the instrument cluster Pay attention as to how the mail light switch is removed and don't force anything
