Hi all,
My name is Carlos and I just recently purchased a 2001 green Expy with a 4.6L...well its for the wife:rolleyes: I was looking for a fourm on these trucks and came across you guys and i wanted to introduce myself. I am 27 turning 28 in march and a father of 4 kids. I have a couple questions for you guys, My truck came with one key the dealer didn't have another one...I have seen some blank ones on ebay, is it worth my while to buy on and have it programmed? or should i look elsewhere and also my truck has an alarm but i have no clicker for it..when i lock and close the doors it honks, is that a factory install (If it is can i get replacement remotes?)or should i remove it and install an aftermarket system?

Thanks.

Aloha Carlos! 4 kids, huh? Me too!

1. Yes...especially if you want more than one key! :p You can program it yourself, BTW.

2. I would get the factory remotes first. But you can also look under the dash and hood to see if you have any type of aftermarket set-up. How is it you are lockin gthe doors after you close them? With the key?

As far as aftermarket...I have no real opinion. I fthe factory stuff works I like to put the money elsewhere. Not like it is really gonna prevent someone from taking it if they truly want it. ;)

Hey Monsta,

I just hit the lock button and close the doors but it honks after and there is a blinking red LED under the steering colum. When the wife gets home i'll look under the dash for an aftermarket set-up.

BTW how do you program the keyless entry?
