2001 Eddie Bauer Ford Expedition given to me by my wife's dad.

The plan is to drive it until it just won't go anymore.

154,088 on it.

Only issue I've had is it randomly shutting off on me at a stoplight one afternoon.

AC shut off and a second later everything went dead.

Turned it right back on and have had no issues since.

Took it to Firestone today to have them check any electronic issues and nothing.

Then on the drive home I could feel the transmission slipping slightly.

Anyway...that's more than enough for an intro post.

Thoughts?

wecolme to the site...has the 100K mile maintence been done?

Yes, according to my father in law. Garaged its whole life and used on long trips.

I've narrowed it down to the alternator not charging as the culprit.

The AC would lose power every time I got on the brake this morning, windows lost power etc.

Put it on the battery charger at autozone so I can make it home. I'll pull the alternator this evening after work.

I'm 4k late but I'll do the 150k maintenance per the manual this weekend.

Fuel filter
Air filter
Transmission filter and fluid
Belts
Axle fluid
Coolant
And cabin air filter if there is one in there
Oh and transfer case fluid

Here's to a few hundred k more miles out of it!

So...to spare you the sad story, the last bolt is resting in the channel under the radiator now. I think.
