Bought my son a stock 1998 xlt 4x4 and the stock rims and wheels are horrible so I am getting him new ones. I have a set of 20' weld eve commando wheels that are 6 lug 135m and wrangler 285/60/20 tires but I'm not sure they'll fit and don't want to go through the headache of getting the tires mounted and find out they won't work.

I figured I would buy the bolt pattern adapter for the rims since the truck is 5 lug and the rims are 6 lug. And I think the width is 10' but could be 9.5

Questions are:
Will they fit and not rub?
Will they stick out way to far because of the adapter and look stupid?
Will the tire size work?
What should I be worried about?

Any advice would be great because I'm not that mechanically inclined.

Thanks
Brian

if the truck is stock, you will have rubbing with 20" rims, especially if they are 9 or 10 inches wide. how thick is the wheel adapter you are looking at getting? that will do it too. plus, what is the offset or backspacing of the 20's? these are all things that you have to take into account before you try and mount them. i personally dont think they will fit without any modification. i was running 16x10 with 35" tires and a 4" lift and i still got rubbing at full turn.

Thanks for the response I really do appreciate and you've confirmed my worry that they won't fit. I want to get him some used rims and tires like the black xd rockstar wheels that don't have that deep dish/inset on the rim....i want to give it that boxy/ tough look...not the bling bling look.

Just considered wheel adapters the other day...I'm not to educated on them so have no idea about the thickness.

Any suggestions? I've got the attached rims on Craigslist looking to unload for $500 or trade straight up with someone.

Any thought or suggestions would be great.
