Hey guys. I just purchased a 2000 Expedition XLT 4X4 with the 5.4 V8. I found the car on Craigslist for $600!!!
It runs and drives but not very well. They way ot was running I figured it needed some O2 sensors and some shift solenoids. I pulled the codes with my scanner and I got 13 codes!!!
Mostly all 02 codes and solenoid codes. So I figure I was correct and first thing I wanted to work on was the o2's. I was getting codes for all 4 of the 02's so I went ahead and purchased some exact fit bosche ones.
When I went under the vehicle I noticed a harness stuck the the exhaust. I pulled it out and it is the one for the drivers side down-stream o2 sensor.
Now here's my problem. The harness is completely melted together. I cannot unplug the old one and simply put the new one in because the two clips have become one and the wires are torched for a foot or so up the line of the harness.
Now is there any way to purchase a new harness? I have looked everywhere and the only one I can find is the pigtail from the 02. That is not what I need.
Also should I just splice the wires and cut off the bad? That looks like the easiest route, I am just not sure which wires connect to which.
A diagram would be much appreciated or someone who knows the colors and who could lead me in the right direction would be great. I'll post a picture of the burned connectors tonight.
Thanks friends!

I would hit the junk yard and grab a good harness. If you are going to splice in a new section stagger the splices and solder/heat shrink the splices. If you want to use butt connectors, only use the crimp/solder/heat shrink combo connectors.

Yes I will swing by the junk yard and see if they have any. Hopefully they wont be all old and brittle. Most likely I will splice. Heatshrink definitely so they won't be exposed to the elements.

I would expect Ford to use a high temp insulation on that part of the harness, may want to keep that in mind if you have to create your own.
