Getting back in a full-size Ford SUV after 6 year absence. We bought a new 2001 Excursion Limited 7.3 PSD 4X4 and kept for 13 years, selling in 2014. Spent a lot of time researching the Expy EL before settling on the 2015 Limited. Picked the EL because we have the garage to hold it and why not get the longest one available? Considered the earlier 5.4 V8 models, but decided on the EcoBoost for combo of better power and MPGs, plus the new tranny. Picked the Limited over XLT for the nicer interior and SYNC interface. Tried a Platinum, but didn't like the 22-inch wheels. Almost tested a King Ranch, but we found this one first. Had to have 4X4, and got the HD Tow even though don't plan on towing. I guess you get better cooling with it, which isn't a bad thing.

Driving impressions so far are great. So much more comfortable and quiet compared to the Excursion. Power is amazing from the EcoBoost. Don't plan on putting a lot of miles on it, it's our third vehicle, but will use for the utility and 4X4 capability. Put together a slideshow of the selling dealer photos...

They are nice. Enjoy it.

Nice ride, plenty of room. We got a 2014 EL Limited about 18 months back. Really nice for taking the small family members and their grandma, mom, etc. here there an yonder for family outings/sight seeing. The kids can pile up in the back, talk, read, fiddle on their ipads and I don't hardly know they're even there. Not sure if it's a distance thing or they're just that happy and comfortable.
