Hi everyone!
I hope all is well. I just wanted to say hello as a new member! I was looking for a big, comfy, third car for the family and found a 2006 Expedition XLT. I bought it last week. 39,*** miles for $8,000 advertised - out the door with fees, tax, and DMV for $10,000. Two owners, no accidents, Fort Lauderdale car its entire life. I had to pull the trigger... plus it was for sale literally 10 mins down the road from me.
It is CLEAN. It's like a 2006 time capsule; the rear carpet doesn't even look like it has been stood on, seats much less sat in. One or two small dents on the body (barely visible), couple small paint bubbles on the front of the hood, the inside is mint, and obviously underbody is clean as a whistle as a Florida car. Apparently, it was owned by an elderly woman who was leaving the US to return to her home country and she sold it to the local Autonation Benz dealer. It still had her cane, her SPF 85 sunblock, and some Tony Robbins CDs in the back (pic below).
I'm not normally a base-model guy, but I am glad this one is fairly basic. I used to love sun roofs, but then had several break and cost $$$ to fix so now I no longer like sun roofs The manual AC controls are awesome, like a 90's reboot. I HATE having to increase or decrease temperature in stupid one-degree increments in a lot of newer cars. Heated seats?? Come on - yes, they break, and it is always hot here - I'm typing this at almost 11PM at night and its currently 90 degrees outside. Finally, since I live in Ft. Lauderdale rear-wheel drive is fine... this will spend its days lazily driving on COMPLETELY flat roads up and down I95 and the Florida turnpike during the week and to the beach on weekends. A 4WD system on the Expy is just more crap that can break at this point in my life and for where I live.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi all!
