Newbie problem

Hello to everyone,
i just purchased a 98 xlt 4.6 this week and i have a couple of problems that i wonder if could handle myself.

1) I have a check engine light on that never cuts off i know that it had a new EGR vavle installed does a dealer have to take care of this.
2) i also have a door ajar light on the the dash that never turns off i checked all doors and the hood and it is still on.
3) the running board lights and interior light stay on for a long time sometimes like 30 minutes before they shut off that bugs the crap out of me.
4) this is my biggest annoyance the sideview mirrors and passenger window work intermitantenly sometimes power goes in and they work but most times they don't.

i got the truck cheap and i know it will be great once i fix these problems.

any advice will be welcomed greatly.

Grab a can of WD-40 and spray all the door locks from the inside and then cycle the locks ( open close open close) a few times.. that will take care of the door ajar problem and the lights staying on. The reason the lights stay is on is cause of the door ajar being on which is telling the car a door is open and thats what turns on the lights. For your mirror problem not really sure on this. It depends if the dealer offers any kind of warranty on the vehicle is they do then take it in soon. You dont want the dealer to come up with some lame excuse that they wont cover.
