Hi everyone.
I recently bought a 2000 Expedition Eddie Bauer edition and I can't figure out how to flatten the third row seat. I found online how to remove it and I might end up doing that but for now I just want to flatten it.
I was able to release the lever to the right, pull the seat up with the metal bar and I even locked in place but this does nothing but hold the seat up into the air. Crazy.
Also, there is no carpeted cover that goes behind the third row seat and I would like to know if anyone might know where I could get one of these?
Thanks in advance.

Check your owners manual page 100

Folding down the third row seat
Pull the seat release lever located
on the lower right side of the
seatback while pushing the seatback
down into the seat cushion. The
seatback will latch into place.
Pull the seat release lever to return
the seatback into the upright seating
position.

Third Row Seat

Hey everyone,
Thank you for the advise!
After I posted my question here I went to a locksmith to get a price on a second key and the guy showed me how to remove the seat. Go figure.

how much did he charge you for the second key

Once you have two keys you can then buy a blank and have it cut then program it yourself Would recommend that you do that and have a 3rd or 4th key You can get key blanks on e-bay and have them cut at home depot or lowes
