i recently changed out all my spark plugs and the boots and i was watching a video on youtube and didn't realize i was supposed to save the little end piece off of the old springs! (electrode he called it) so ive got all 8 plugs running with just springs and no electrodebecause the new springs that came with the boots didnt come with them so i assumed it was just a new type that didnt need it but the guy in this video i watched is saying you are suppposed to keep them and put them on the new springs. My truck seems to be running fine, alot better actually because it was missing really bad before and i almost thought i was having tranny issues but it all good since i did the plugs. Anyways what kind of damage could possibly be done from not having these electrode? and what effect could it have on my engine? should i try buying them somewhere and go back and put them on all the wires (ugh) or does it not really matter?

On new oem coils I have purchased there is no such end, it is just the spring. Same if I remember correctly on my taurus sho and it still had original plugs installed. Until I saw this video never knew those existed. I would say you are fine.

Bank one is also the passenger side for your info. He incorrectly identified the drivers side as bank one. The cylinders number from 1 to 4 front to back on passenger side. 5 to 8 front to back on drivers side.

I have 3 vehicles with COP ignition and have worked on a few others and never seen those ends. Weird.
