I'm stuck! I have a 2000xlt with a 5.4 in it. Yesterday out of nowhere the check oil light came on and the oil pressure bottomed out. I changed the oil and filter. Still had the same problem so I changed the sending unit... That didn't work either... The motor sounds good over all. Anyone have any ideas on what I might try next.

I'd check the pressure with a known good mechanical oil pressure gauge. If it shows low or no pressure your going to have a bad day if you don't shut it off quickly.

It can also be a clogged pick up screen.

I certainly wouldn't drive it until I verified the oil pressure as stated above.

Agree with all the above. Need to verify if you have oil pressure before you run it at all.

Zero oil pressure will seriously damage motor in short order.
