Noisy Lifters?

Hi All

Am new here, I have 2000 5.4 l Its making a tapping noise like cards on the spoke of a wheel. Warm or cold idle or under load. Had the oil changed and put in Rislone. If this is the lifters, how long can this engine last? ( I have 170k on it now ) if not how much would it cost to fix this?

I would greatly appreciate any help thanks in advance

Engine noises and how long they'll last are difficult to determine. As far as costs, are you or a shop doing the work?

bought mine at 380k clicks (kilometers) & up to 520 now with the same tap, think prob from a worn crank con rod bearing, noise def from the bottom

an engine stethoscope is fabulous for sourcing/pinpointing engine noise issues
