ODBII Reader with Gauges

I am looking to add a ODBII reader that can display live data. I have looked at "Banks iDash" and the "Edge CTS3".
But the answer I get is "They should work" or "They might work"
Has anyone had any luck at reading live data thru the ODBii port?

An ELM327 bluetooth/WiFi scanner works for me with Car Scanner Android App.

The Scan Gauge lll is compatible with the 5th gen Expy's.

I have an ELM327, but ultimately decided to stick with the UltraGauge MX. It looks dated, but it works well and it keeps my phone free. I've been running it for 11 years and the one in my wife's Honda has been running for 12 years.

I run the Car Scanner app on an old android phone. Bluetooth connection so no wires. Works great. Customizable dashboard- you can set up 3 and swipe between them. I have one set up with gauges for coolant temp, tranny temp, rpm, boost, and throttle, the things I want to watch while I'm towing. A quick swipe to another screen shows tire pressures. 3rd has a bunch of text readouts for all kinds of stuff.

Do any of these apps mentioned have a display option for Android Auto? I have the JeepAA app on my phone that reads my Cherokee data with my OBD2 Bluetooth dongle and I can display it on the Jeep screen through AndroidAuto.
