2003 Expedition EB edition-

I had just purchased the expedition and have a question reguarding the Radio & DVD.

When I turn the key or start the engine, the time will not automatically display however the numbers will illuminate on the buttons.
BUT when I hit the menu button it will display, SELECT TIME, from there i can get the player to LOAD discs.
From there i cannot get the discs to play, and eventully it wiil turn off.

Im assuming the Radio does not need to be replaced due to the fact that it powers on and properlly displays text and lights.

ALSO, with the OEM DVD player.
I can press eject and the blue screen will display no disc. I attempte to load the discs and it will take the disc in BUT will not PLAY or EJECT the disc.
Alike the Radio, i assume that it does not have to be replace because it powers on.

If anyone has experienced simmalar problems it would be helpful to get some feedback before i purchase a aftermarket Radio and DVD player. I perfer to keep them stock.

Hopefully i will get some input soon. Thanks for the help!!

try and read your owners manual to see if everything is set up correctly If you don't have the owners manual you can go online to owner.ford.com and download a manual. Also check all fusses associated with the radio to make sure they are good as there are more than one. Information is in the owners manual.

I have checked all fuses all are fine.
When I try to power it ON by pressing the volume knob, there is no response.
The only way I can get it to turn on is by pressing the MENU button...

I think your radio needs replacing..But that's my opinion.

it almost sounds as if the main power control is stuck in a depressed position as if someone pressed it with some force Can you check with the previous owner to see if there was a problem? Also being you state that you just purchased the expy if it was from a dealer was there any warranty given if so you may have some recourse to have him fix the problem

No warranty policy, Im a dealer and I picked it up at an auction.
I have pulled the stereo out, As far as i no there is no aftermarket audio equipment connected.
When i push the VOL/POWER knob there is no reply.
The only way i can get any text on the screen is by pressing MENU, which then displays the TIME and SELECT HOUR.

Appriciate the feedback fellas, I am leaning towards getting a replacement radio, not sure if I will go aftermarket or just buy a new stock one.
As far as my DVD player goes, do you guys suggest I replace it along with the stereo?

radio prints If you have pulled the radio you could check the connector to see if you have power or not Can send you a print-out of the connector if needed

you may want to hold off on the DVD player until you fix the radio as there is interconnecting wiring between the radio and DVD and being the radio isn't powering on that could be the cause of the DVD not powering on Although you may think you are getting power to both there are a few different power sources for both If you had a complete set of the wiring prints you would be able to see the interaction between the two units
