Thanks that looks like a good out of the way spot, do you just put a cup under it to drain it or do you have a drain hose routed to under carriage? I haven’t recieved my kit from TeamRXP yet but they told me over the phone that they thought guys were mounting their cans near the battery on the Expys . Actually they offered to do a free install on my Expy so they could do a video on Expy install ( they only have f150 video)but I’m not driving from MD to FL for an install. I guess I’ll have to wait and see how long my lines in the kit are then decide on my options

The JLT is designed so you just unscrew the bottom portion of the catch can and dump/recycle it.

What is the purpose of this catch can? A secondary filter setup or is it a pressurized unit for pre start oil?

Lots of info on this forum about catch cans...but to summarize: device to catch oil vapors and prevent the oil from Coating/coking the intake side of your engine.

Just did some research on this. Good idea. Has anyone installed a check valve/ breather setup that runs directly into the exhaust? Our drag team ran this setup on all our mustangs with naturally aspirated small blocks. Some with NOS. Negative crankcase pressure helps ring seal..

The hose looks like ordinary heater hose, so don't limit yourself to the supplied length. Get enough hose from an auto supply store and you can install that thing in inside the rear bumper.

Yeah looks like fuel/pcv hose, this system has a drain Petcock with clear tubing or can be taken apart also. So I guess I’ll try to mount it where I can drain it into drain pan when I change engine oil

I got it a little cheaper cause I called and ordered 2 kits , 1 for me and one for my cousins F150. I researched and liked the fact that this kit pulls from both turbos along with intake manifold vacuum so it's still filtering during boost conditions. I figure if I’m going to spend the $$ to prevent intake valve coking then I wanna make sure it’s gonna work in all conditions and I’m pretty confident it will do that. Piece of mind call it.

Driver side is the clean side on the Exs. All you need to worry about is the passenger side. But whatever floats your boat. Make sure to post pics in case others are looking at this product.

Check out Ford Tech Makuloco’s video on why you should tap into the turbo charge pipes so the filter system still works with positive pressure in the intake , the draw from turbos create a vacuum so filter system never stops working even under boost

Ive watched them all but have researched and seen that the general consensus, especially for our truck and the f150s, is that you really only need a passenger side catch can. And from what I’ve seen with build up on my MAP sensor on manifold before and after the install, it’s doin what it’s supposed to do. Those big systems are nice and all but I can think of 100 ways to spend that extra $200 savings on my truck by getting a JLT. Like I said, it’s your truck and your choice. Let us all know how you like it!
