Probably averages 100-150. I work from home, but get out to play disc golf and to the grocery store weekly and make the trip to duncan daily. How many miles per week?
10w30. I do not see any smoke from the tail pipe..... what weight oil are you using ? Are you seeing much blue smoke out of the tail pipe ?
Yes, has been on forever with a lean bank code.Is the check engine light on, seems like that a lot of oil would mess with the O2 sensors.
Ellison Brown III:Ok… I have an ‘04 and a ‘16. So, I might be able to give you some guidance. That lean bank code is referring to too much air, and not enough fuel (lean). To compensate for the air it will dump more fuel; thus, making fuel mileage even crappier. Read the code again to find which bank/ cylinder it’s referring to. This will help you on the journey to the PCV leak. My leak was coming from the PCV valve/ hose assembly. I call it an assembly because it’s made up of a PCV valve, and a PCV loop that comes together. Can’t get it from the auto part store. One of the hoses was contacting a hard surface that rubbed a hole through it.
Oh, as far as the oil consumption goes… I just have the daughter keep an eye on it. Probably burns approximately a quart in about 2-3 weeks I’m guessing. Doesn’t smoke, nor does it leak. It’s got approximately 295k in it. There are two culprits that come to kind… valve seals allowing small amounts of oil to leak down into the cylinders which get burned off quickly after the initial start of the day. Or, worn piston rings that allow small amounts of oil to enter the combustion process where small amounts get burned off until it becomes noticeable.
Broken Pilot, below is the Motorcraft Part link for the PCV assembly. In case the link does not work, part number is 6C324, which you can type into Parts.Ford.com. Dorman might make this part too, if you trust their stuff. Good luck.Ellison Brown III:
I found your reply to this post by accident. I also have an '04 (Eddie Bauer XLT) and I need the PCV "assembly" that you have pictured in your reply to this thread (above). Will you please provide the part number for that PCV assembly? Were you able to find that assembly anywhere other than at the Ford Dealer? Thanks for your help! Sincerely, James
