Short answer, no easy access and I remove it from the bottom. I've changed my oil and filter 3 times now. Here's what I found. First time I did it without ramps or putting it on jack stands. I have a Tremor with a little extra clearance. I thought it would be quicker. It wasn't. Second time I used ramps, third I jacked it a little higher and used jack stands. Was a little easier with it higher off the ground. The Tremor has a small access panel to reach through to get to the filter. It's in an odd position and requires much contortion. I've tried all kinds of positions and found feet first under the truck better. Taking off the entire skid plate would make it easier, but probably more of a pain in the long run. After a few changes I'm getting the hang of it and it's not too bad.
First filter from the factory was on very tight. I found this
PITTSBURGH PRO 3/8 in. Drive T-Bar with Flexible Ratchet from Harbor Freight helped. I also spent some time at Autozone finding a filter cap that fits the factory filter. Although the ratchet I linked is T-handled, you don't spin it with the T-handle. You still use it like a breaker bar. It's very flexible. You only get about 3 degrees of rotation each time, but filters don't need much to loosen them. I have yet to find a fitting filter cap that has enough space between the 3/8 socket and the end of filter. When I push the ratchet into the cap it wants to pop the cap off the filter. I have a very small mallet I tap the cap onto the filter with. That's been extremely helpful. I only hand tighten the filters, but they must tighten through heat and cooling cycles because I've yet to remove one by hand. It is an awkward position to reach your arm in, so it's difficult to get much leverage. Good luck. It will get easier each time you do it.
