If I were here, you would know it !
Here are my filter wrenches. The 2 metal strap wrenches get used 95% of the time, while the others are for situations - mostly with friends cars where some azzhat at a shop tried to see how tight he could get the filter.

Wow, are you using that notebook to log everything for your vehicle(s) ?

Just wondering, as I use a spreadsheet to keep it all up to date, but I have 5 vehicles, so it's just easier for me to have all the info in 1 place, instead of flipping thru a bunch of pages every time I need to see when the last service(s) was/were done :)

If you want, I can send you a copy. Don't worry it's not one of those fancy, smart-assed ones with all kinds of complex formulae or special formatting :)

Thanks guys for all the info.

I use a store bought maintenance book for all my service and repairs to my car. It fits nicely in the glove box and it is nicely laid out for most all categories.

Just fixed my cruise control that wasn't working and my electric mirrors that were not working.

All that is left is the static in my radio when I turn on the headlights.....anyone with any ideas.

Well, some / all of you might find this interesting, maybe a little bit funny, but that composition book started recording maintenance information for our vehicles in 1996 and in 1998 it began recording additional information regarding building and tuning our fun cars, including specific steps for removing and reinstalling transmissions, clutches, blowers, engines and other processes that we did not want to leave out any steps. At one point we owned 8 vehicles and a trailer, these days we are down to 6 and a trailer and alot less major work. Through it all, the book has stayed.

The most unusual part of the story, is throughout all that time, my wife and I owned an IT services company and we are both very well versed in most aspects of Information Technology. Just never got around to translating all the information in that book to digital format.

All of the information from day one, both good and bad on this old girl is in that book, even though we tuned her with a laptop and wireless. Unfortunately, she is no longer with us, but given the opportunity to buy her back tomorrow, we would.
