I want to know what kind of oil you guy use in your Expeditions. I know that the manual says 5w20.
At a Chevy dealership they put in 10w30. I have around 600 miles on it so far, but Im kinda concerned.
I plan on switching over to the Mobile 1 full synthetic. I saw some Mobile 1 5w30 at Sam's Club. Would it be alright to use that?

Just bought 6 qts of Mobile 1 5W-30 at Sam's for $28. Did some reading and bought an Amsoil oil filter since apparently they are one of the best filters in the market. Cost me 20 bucks with shipping. Ill change out the Castrol as soon as I get a chance on the weekend.
Maybe next time, Ill get some of the Amsoil that goes for 35k miles :) Seems a little expensive right now, but in the long run it comes out better :)

They have proven that 5w20 increased wear 30% over 5w30. Ford went to the 20 to get an extra 2 tenths of a mile to the gallon to meed their cafe standards. The 03 doesh't have variable cam timing anyway, but it doesn't screw with that either. The 3 valve motors that have the variable timing on the cams only get screwy with a high volume oil pump. Mobil 1 5w30 is the best oil for the money IMHO. The factoy ford filter is also a synthetic fiber filter so don't waste your money. I believe it is the same filter as a purolator pure one.......
