I would rather have a full open diff with the pin lock that will stay engaged at all speeds than this new design. But the Expys are grocery getter family wagons. So I totally get the value of the different drive modes for someone like my wife. I would pay for any type of locking rear diff over a open or limited slip.

the nanny crap is there to minimize the warranty calls/repairs and because people don't even know how to stick a key in a lock anymore!
Mopar/Jeep has been limiting the diff/locker use and sway bar disconnects for many years....theres a cottage industry of software and tune providers that by pass all the nanny crap.

Just to turn off traction control you have to go into a screen menu. Brutal. Why hill start/hold gets a button but TC doesn’t is mind bottling.

haha, the engineers assume the public has been bottling their mind for years which is why they feel they need to limit our access... o_O:jester:

Last Halloween I had to hop in a random family's RX350 because they got it stuck in a grass (read mud) parking lot. It was awd but wouldn't let you keep your foot in it to clean the street tires enough to dig its way out. It took me almost 5 min to figure out where the TC off button was. They really don't want people driving without TC!
