Newbie to the board, but just purchased my second e/b expedition. Gotta love Ford's luxury urban tank !

This one is a 2003 with 25k miles. Only thing i miss on my '98 are the Michelin tires. The Contis on the 03 are weak at best, and nearing their end of life.

It's still mom's soccer taxi, so keeping the bling level low. I'm thinking about getting a set of the 18" oem rims (F-150/FX4 style split spoke) and Michelin Pilot LTX in 275-65 18 size. I have a friend at a local custom shop that can get the 18" oems for me at a very good price.

Looking for some comments on this set-up, 18" tires in general on the expedition, and especially if anyone is running the Pilot LTXs (any size) on their expedition.

thanks in advance--

When it was time to replace the tires at 50K, I realized they were about $135 each for the 17". After searching on ebay, I found some OEM 18" tires and rim take offs with 5 miles on them for $450. They had about 10 sets from where the dealer had taken them off and put the 22's on. Give them a call.....
