OT...perceptions ......

Thanks to Kerry, I recently renewed my friendship with my only brother. It's not like we were mad at one another, just that we were all raised to be very independent and are....

Anyway, he is 6 years younger...and as a kid, wasn't the cutest kid...prob due to mom being nearly 40 when he was born....and that was in '63 so things were very different back then. His kind barely survived<LOL>...but no matter how hard I pressed that spot......typical little brother stuff.

So him & his GF and Kerry & I meet them for a couple hours over lunch on Christmas eve on our way to NY.

He tells Sandy and my Kerry how I used to "beat all the kids up in the neighborhood for making fun of him". Factually, they did make fun of him because he was goofy looking as hell and yes, NO ONE makes fun of my brother, BUT ME so yes, I did get into a lot of fights protecting my brother....but I asked him: "Do you really think I won all those fights?"

"yes" he answers, I saw you!!

That's when I realized that for almost 44 yrs, he's had me on a pedestal that had not been earned......"Brother, I didn't win ANY of those fights". All the kids had been older by at least 2 yrs and bigger than I as well.....there were no victories on those battlefields that I can remember, and I was there!

So then I hear "But, you were always good in fights, your friends said so(those same friends that are now all dead mind you). So I told him, yeah, I learned how to fight as a young adult....but as a kid....I always got beat up.....hence the reason to learn the arts.

The epiphany was visible on his face..............it only now that he finally realizes that I took the assbeatings meant for him. Before you attribute false gallantry to me over this, again unearned ....there wasn't any such noble cause....it's just that I use to beat up my brother....no one else was allowed!

Just like most big brothers.......

Isn’t it obvious? In one of those fights he was hit so hard his brain synapses were forever altered, ultimately causing him to desire and buy a 03’ Expedition, which in turn made his desire to purchase a 3rd gen after and here we are today. Hence it has everything to do with the 3rd gen Ford Expedition.

Evidently, not all understand common vernacular ......such as "OT" for instance.....I do not fault them though for reading/reacting done prior to actual reading comprehension.

It's understandable, many have failed to gain critical thinking skills through school....but it's not their fault, right?

How about you answer the question instead of trying to make people feel stupid. I read your post and nothing about it has anything to with the 3rd gen Expedition or even automobiles for that matter. It looks like the ramblings of someone who had to much eggnog over the winter break and just wanted to post something in order to get people to interact with you.

With your comment above you’ve gone from being someone the forum can look to for knowledge to being a complete jerk.

I promise you will not fare well since you are obviously completely unarmed but if it makes you feel better, to everyone else, I'll make it look like a case of child abuse.....but you go ahead.......I've got a feeling that despite you already knowing that it can't go well for you....you will bulldoze your way into a deeper mess anyway, verifying your own stupidity.

You are making the mistake that because I generally do not seek "forum conflicts" that I'm unable or unwilling to defend myself. You are very confused....

Your opinion of me matters zero...so please don't warm your cockles thinking otherwise because you are only suffering an illusion caused by your own ego requiring you to feel important, regardless of the truth being that you aren't......

I personally don't mind, but it's not unreasonable for people to want to keep forums on topic.
