We have had the 2018 Expedition for about two months and yesterday all overhead lights and switches in the front and rear of the vehicle no longer work. This includes dome lights, map lights, visor lights, rear lights, Home link buttons, moon roof and cover controls. Basically everything in the ceiling of the car doesn’t work.

Could this be a fuse? I reviewed the fuse list and don’t see any that obviously cover these items but there are a few that have generic names. Does anyone here know what fuses I should check or if there is another issue to consider? Thanks

A test light is a good cheap tool to have for testing fuses. Once you learn how to test fuses without pulling each one of them you'll wonder why you didn't have the light sooner. See the sticky in the electrical section - Fuse testing 101
Test them with the ignition key in the run position.

You can get a cheap one off Amazon for @$6, one with a meter is @$23.

I recently fixed a frozen information screen by pulling the negative cable on the battery for a few seconds.

May not help in your case but worth the five minutes it takes to see.

The same issue occurred on my truck when picking it up from the dealership. At first, the sales guy thought it could have been related to a lockout feature used for transporting the truck from the factory. But, service guys took a look and found a loose cable, reseated it, and fixed the problem. I don't know the location of the cable. I should have asked. But, maybe near the fuse box.

Here's a dumb question, but a 2018 brand new vehicle is covered under warranty, why you messing with it? Is the dealer that far away?

Thanks all for the suggestions. I tried disconnecting battery and that didn’t solve it.

Car is under warranty but dealerships arent doing loaner vehicles and are backed up two weeks for rental cars.

If it is something easy then I figured I could just correct it.

OK then. Do as Stamp said, buy yourself a continuity light at any auto parts or hardware store. Find a good ground point for the alligator clamp, the negative post of battery is best. Get out your owners book, and start poking at both sides of fuses with key turned to on not start. If you find one that doesn't light, pluck it out, try another same amperage/color, and see what happens. Theirs probably a 15 to 20 amp one that went ****!
