Guess I'm getting a smoke machine! My '03 5.4 has been running great, but set 4 codes yesterday - P1000, P0171, P0174, P0442. I expected the 442 since I've had cracked plastic fuel tank fittings for years, but the lean conditions are new and point to a new vacuum leak. I have mostly original vacuum lines in the engine bay.

Popped the hood and think I found the leak in 2 seconds without getting dirty or taking the smoke machine out of the box. Gonna see if this hose is still available OEM.

2' of 3/8" fuel line with a dab of oil on each end to help it slip over the barbs. Unfortunately the clips on the green elbow were brittle and broke off. It's a snug fit at the valve assembly so I don't think it'll fall off, but I may add a zip tie around the whole thing to ensure it doesn't slip off.

I used the Dorman replacement and found the hose to be higher quality than the OEM hose. It's been on there for about 8 years and no sign of deterioration . I don't know why Ford used such crap material for their vacuum hoses, but they did.

I looked at that, but all the fitments said it wasn't for 2003 Expy. I figured, if I'm buying something that isn't made to fit, I'll just go the cheap route and buy bulk fuel line.

Yeah, sometimes Amazon's fitment charts are off. But it fits and is a direct replacement.
