the autozone ppl wrote exhaust gas recurculation flow excessive detected. what do i have to do for this

i was about to get a new exhaust but i havent yet where is the egr valve i will clean it next time i get a chance see if that fixes it can i get a pic of where it is im not to good a figuring out where this stuff is

Looking at the motor, it will be on the left side of the motor, take the plastic cover off, here is a pic and the location.

ok i know where it is(thanks dude). so i should clean it and it should be fine? wahts the easyest way to clean it if anyone has done this

Yes they do, I actually just figured that out the other day while I was looking at some stuff under the hood . . . I'm sure it helps somehow, but I don't think it is needed, and an increase of cost and electronics.

As for cleaning the EGR Valve, I would take it apart and get some carb or brake cleaner to spray on it and use a brush to clean all the gunk out.

and a small driver or good scribe to break up the major carbon.
