So I went to the salvage yard, bought a replacement deck lid. Some cancer along the bottom edges and inside the lip, from 2013 Ltd Tuxedo Black.
Replaced it and took off my lid, stripped it of all badges rubber wiring to just metal.
Took it to my local Powder Coating expert last week and now waiting for the finished product.
Media strip inside and out to bare metal . Barrier coat of anti tarnish , powder coat black epoxy primer , bake and followed by Tuxedo Black Metal flake Powder coat, bake and
Clear Coating and now under fine sand , compound and buff. Clear Coat leaves the finish with a slight "orange Peel" effect, fine finish wet sanding and compounding will leave it like factory new.
Pick up is next week, pictures of the whole process to follow.
Since the back lid is only up against the side plastic panels, color match is not 100 % critical so I am curious how well it does match. The hood would be next and matching is more critical since it lays up against the fenders for comparison.
My hope is that this is the final answer instead of repeated repairs by dealer designated body shops and money out of my pocket.
