Has anyone ever painted the trim pieces around the windows and on the back corners? I have a 97 and they are looking pretty bad. It looks though that it would require some sanding first but im just curious to see if anyone has done and the results?

I know the 2nd gen Expys have the glossy paint (like the B pillars) on the bottom of the windows surround by matte rubber/hard plastic. The glossy parts would probably have to be sanded, primed, painted black, and cleared. If you do it be rattle can, you'll probably have to wetsand as well.

If it's just matte plastic, the Duplicolor Trim paint (green w/ black top at auto stores) works really good in giving that OEM matte color.

Painting

We sanded the trim on the door panel where the keyless entry is down, primed and painted but it just bubbled up again, and peeled. It is aluminum and cheap material. Very expensive to replace part, more expensive to have installed. For my three doors was $350/parts & $500 for installation. I am not happy about that & searching for options.
