My passenger window dont work. When i hit button to raise, lower lights dim a bit, nothing happens. For short period of time it worked intermittintly, sometimes going up or downafter sevral pushes of button, now notta. How does a novice determin if switch or moter is bad.If it is moter how hard is it to change/I,m in wheelchais and an old goat but not afraid to attempt.i will say up front i have no electric testers but do have tools to take apart. Thanks,Paul

I would say its the motro due to the lights dimming, meaning that there is resistance there.
I just looked on Rockauto and the window/motor assembly is only $61
More Information for DORMAN 741872 so I would go that route.
As far as changing it out it is fairly simple.
Romove door panel
You usually have a few 10mm bolts holding the regulator to the door, remove those then remove the bolts that hold the base of the glass to the regulator, have some tape to run a piece of tape up over the door sticking it to each side of the glass so it wont fall down in the door and break
Take out the regulator
reverse steps with the new regulator

Here is a vid from Youtube. 1A auto has alot of videos on different projects- its for an f150 but expys would be the same
