Do the so called performance chips advertised on the internet from various places for around $70 really do anything or a waster of money? They claim added HP and increase MPG and simple installation.

No. That said I very much enjoy my superchips tuner solid gains, and in mpg too!

most on here have SCT or Edge...theyre programmable meaning a 3rd party can give custom tune for your needs...those of us that have superchips are pleased but they cant be customized with a tune...what superchips puts on this is it...still better than nothing
