Please help..97 Expedition dash lights dont work

We just got a 97 Expedition and the interior lights were staying on but running board lights would go off so I new it was in the dimmer switch and thought that's why the dash lights wouldn't working. I took switch out and saw that 2 metal prongs were touching each other so moved them apart and that helped me with the interior lights, but dash lights still don't work and we need them to be fixed real soon. The parking lights work if that helps cuz I see where some peoples dash and parking lights don't work, its just all my dash and heater\ac lights and don't know about radio because that's missing. Please help us figure this problem out. I did see where the person had an aftermarket radio I truck because of the plug they added. Thanks

Ok, when I cut the headlights or parks on the headlight/dimmer switch panel lights up and works to the dimmer when I turn it but no dash or climate control lights. Any help would be appreciated.

Headlight switch? Shorted something out in the switch do to the two prongs touching....... Guessing

You might be right. The switch cuts the parks on and the headlights plus the switch lights up, just no dash lights nor climate control lights. I don't know where to start.

Ok, got a switch out of a 98 or 99 and hooked it up and parks, headlights, fog lights all worked and this time the climate control worked but still no dash lights. I don't know what to test to see what's going on.

Ok, why won't my dash lights work? The rest of the interior lights work, just don't know about the radio lights because it came without a radio. I looks like someone had an aftermarket one in at one time, it has an antenna for xm radio and looks like an extra radio plug was added. We need our dasg lights to work, any ideas what to check?
