If the PMT arms don't come with new bolts you should probably go buy some from Canadian Tire or what ever retailer around that has a good bolts bin. Good luck, there is quite a bit of information on the ford trucks forum. I replaced nearly every part and bushing on my rear suspension and it took me a couple hours. Just doing the arms should be a one hour or four beer job.

I installed Pmt control arms on mine upper and lower. They come with bolts. I took pictures and there in my album. But I have no photos of the install or write up. I fought with the first few to get the old rusty bolts out... This with 600ft lb impact gun and then long breaker bar. Then decided to get out my portable band saw. Had the others out in no time. They are the locking type nuts. That combined with rust and......... Band saw and bolt is cut in 5 seconds or less.

Canadian, please keep in mind that the driver's side upper bolt on the frame is going to be blocked by the gas tank. So, you have 2 options as I see it when doing the track arms. You can drop the gas tank out of the way (not a hard job as long as the tank is almost empty, but still an hour just for that), or you can get some sort of cutting tool and lop the hex head off of the bolt so you can pull the rest of the bolt out towards the outside of the truck. These are your options. Pick your poison.

The only thing that I will caution you on is when you are cutting out the old bolt (if you pick this method), just be careful of the gas tank. Atleast on my truck it is a plastic tank and one slip with the cutting tool and you are going to go right through that tank.

MAke sure you check your current arms ..like I said I though mine were only alittle bad but after getting them off and taking a screw driver to them ..they fell apart. If one of the arms break off while driving on the highway ..it would be very bad for everybody :nono::badidea::nono:

Knowing Panda and what he wants to do probably for more off road travel. The longer they are the farther they can droop. So you move the mounts forward or the axle backwards and get more travel.

exactly. its like a jeep, uh oh. haha you can lift a jeep as high as you can with short arms, but your still limited to the travel from those arms. but as soon as you put in a long arm system the jeep will sit lower and have more travel. its just geometry. i have to find this site that shows geometry. its really cool. make arms any length and then just move the design and see if it minds.
