possible 2nd/3rd generation owner

I joined this forum because I'm looking for a truck. I have a 4.6L SOHC in a Grand Marquis with 390000km, so I know these engines go a long long time. Given that many owners seem to love their Expeditions here, I figured they're a good bet.

I'll post my questions in a specific sub-forum.

I'm sorry to say that I won't be an Expy owner. Nearly every one I saw was a piece of junk. I then found a Tahoe in not bad shape. It does need work, but it's doable.

So sorry, I'm jumping ship I guess.

Well, I know I got a Tahoe for myself, but I have partially redeemed myself and will likely be getting a 4.6L Explorer for my wife. I love the organization of this site, so I will likely "lurk" here because there will be some similarities between these two models. I'm sure both 5.4 and 4.6L 3 valve engines suffer from the many of the same timing chain issues.
