I have read most of the posts about this - but here is my problem;
I run thru the "auto unlock" process in my owners manual (key on...key off..etc) but when I hit the last lock - unlock sequence - I never get two beeps from the horn. This should be sounded when the status has changed I believe, but it never works - meaning it never toggles. I have tried this repeatedly so I must be doing something wrong.....

When I park, the power unlock does not unlock the doors and no one can exit until I hit the unlock manually. Any pointers here on what I may be doing wrong if this has happened to you?

also - Do the door locks unlock the minute you go to "park"?

Thanks,

Mark

There's an auto unlock? I know there was auto lock in the 03-06's where the doors would lock once you were above a certain speed.

In the '07 the automatic lock feature is set or unset from the Message Center which is standard on all. Just find it and turn it off if you don't want it.

No automatic Unlock I can find other than
Smart unlocking feature
The smart unlocking feature helps prevent you from locking yourself out
of the vehicle. With the key in any ignition position, the driver’s door will
automatically unlock if it is locked using the power lock control on the
driver’s door panel while the driver’s door is open.

This is the page from my owners manual in the truck - is it an error?

Chuck - could you check your manual if you have time?

It clearly says it have an UNLOCK feature that is programmable. However, I went on the Ford website and downloaded the manual and this description is not there - hmmmm?

Edit **** sorry - can't seem to attach the pdf file here***** Any clues.

You can skip all the button punching and turn the auto lock on or off thru the Message Center.

Got a page number on the auto unlock?

I have the paper manual in the truck and a .PDF manual on my PC here.

I searched the PDF copy and quoted the only UNlock reference in my last message.

You should be able to Email your PDF to me.

Chuck - page 106 and 107 in the printed book from the glove box. I do not have the computer option so I have only a few things on the message center that I have noticed. I think it will only adjust the radio settings but I have no trip odometer or anything like that.

Take a look and let me know what your take on this auto unlock is.

I could not figure out how to e-mail you and the pm did not allow me to attach the pdf file.

Thanks - Mark

Pgs 106 & 107 in my printed book define the cruise control! :)

Back cover of mine shows 07 owners guide. Octover 2006. Second printing. Yours?

Every USA '07 Expedition has the base message center to my knowledge. It's that set of big square buttons high on the center dashboard labelled INFO - SETUP - RESET on my XLT (produced early Feb '07 I think).

Chuck,

I do not have those buttons - they are only blank plastic inserts on the three left positions on my dash

My owners manual is dated may 2006, 1st printing.

I will try again to get you a copy...

I just found a small diameter pin coming out from the gages which allows me access to a few items in the dash display. You basically push the pin in to cycle thru the items and hold it in for resetting. From my memory they are:

-2 trip odometers (A & B)
-miles to empty
-mpg
-language
-auto-lock

Weird I do not have the buttons on the dash like yours. Anyway no auto-unlock noted there but clearly stated in my manual. Next trip to the dealer I will inquire about the discrepancies.

Thanks again for the photo's.

Mark

I had my truck upgraded tot he heavy duty towing package today at the dealer and I asked the service manager about this feature. He checked with the tech and he felt that they can turn this on only via their computer. Next month during the 18k service they will turn this on. We will see.......

Hey chevy24d, I would like to know more info about your HD Tow Pkg upgrade. Do you have any part #'s or specifics? I'm really interested in doing this, but when I called around, the service people sounded confused. One even said that I should go aftermarket because there is no kit for the springs, etc.

Thanks.

I am away on biz but when I return I will post the numbers on my receipt. The change is only a thicker Radiator and a larger Transmission cooler (including different tranny cooler hoses). I negotiated this conversion and did not have them do the wiring harness. I compared my hitch to one on a truck with the HD towing package and the only difference I see is the hd has a tab welded on it for the 7 pin connector along with the 4 pin stock connector. My sticker clearly states class IV and 9200 lbs.

PS - take a look at this forum I posted to also as CHEVY24D.

As Mark said the HD towing package is the bigger engine and transmission radiators, plus the full trailer wiring. Nothing else, certainly no suspension mods. Nothing but cooling and wiring.

7-pole Bargman trailer connector to the right of the receiver; 4-pole boat trailer connector to the left on the rear bumper.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread, but about the radiator... Does the HD Radiator require a new radiator support or hoses? what about the tranny cooler? Going bigger, will it require new hoses? Thanks.

Here is what is on my receipt:
(1) Radiator assy - p/n 7L1Z*8005*B
(1) Oil cooler assy - p/n 7L1Z*7A095*B
(1) Tube-oil cooler - p/n 7L1Z*7C410*C
(1) Antifreeze - p/n VC*7*B

I hope this helps!

BTW - I think the parts list cost was $332 and Labor was $140.
