Ok, I kind of took out my passenger side mirror this weekend on the side of the garage. The glass didn't break or anything but it does not fold anymore. It will fold until the plastic trim piece catches on the mirror. Obviously I tweaked the plastic molding on the mirror. Can these mirrors be taken apart so I can figured out what is causing it to be pushed out or is it just an entire unit and I am better off either trimming the plastic that is catching or buying a new mirror?

Any advice would be great, thanks!

BTW is my '08 compatible with the new BLIS mirrors in terms of wiring, etc?

Hi spotdog14,

I recommend reaching out to the parts department of your local dealership; they'll be able to answer your questions about compatibility and order any necessary parts for your project. You can also check out the diagrams available at Official Ford Parts Site | Buy Motorcraft & OEM Ford Parts Online | FordParts.com by searching for the mirror for your specific model year/trim level.

Thanks for the info.

So no one knows how the plastic fits together on these things? I thought I could just pop it back into place but can't seem to do that.
