Power loss but no cel

2011 expedition El, falls on its face on the highway. Low end torque seems fine but flooring it to pass a car or merge and there's really nothing there. No check engine lights, new plugs last year. My only guess is either a clogged cat or the cam phasers/VCTs.
Any other ideas? Is there a way to test the cat besides taking it off?
