Do 2nd Gen Expeditions have the option of power running boards like the Navis do? I just had the swing out arm on my driver's side crack as I was exiting the truck. Looks like the salted winter Northeast roads corroded the aluminum so much it crumbled. I removed the whole assembly and the remains of the arm were coming off in my hand.

Anyone have these I would suggest cleaning them up and painting/coating them to prevent this from happening. Local dealer was over $500 for the part. I ordered it from a dealer in NC for $370 shipped. Still a lot considering the possibility of the other side have the same issue and the front assembly with the motor or considerable more money and it noticeably corroded.

My Navi already has them. I was going to give a warning to owners with them especially up north.
