Yep, that's not bad. I'll be out the door for about $58.5K or so. Not bad for a Max 4x4 with the 201A package and White Platinum paint. Plus, they're giving me $8K on trade for my 2008 XLT with 142K miles. Figured I could get $6K, maybe $7K selling it myself, so I avoid that hassle and a bit over $500 in sales tax. So the difference will be right at $50K. I'm happy with that.

Those that have ordered did you negotiate the trade-in when you ordered or wait until delivery?

I ordered and asked what they would offer for my trade in so I knew it would be a better move for me to try and sell it while I waited on the build. I ended up trading it in anyway.

Thanks for all the great advice, sounds like negotiate now is the way to go and then see if I can find better. I once used CARMAX to sell a car as dealer just couldn't/wouldn't match then took that cash and used it to make better down payment. Again thanks for all the advice this forum these members rock!

I've started the process of looking/buying. I normally look in a 250mile range and found the exact one I was looking for. The dealer was going to cut me a "great deal". he knocked... ready for it... 0.8% off sticker. my search continues.

I have in my possession a dealer used platinum. Just over 2k miles. Loaded.

Trying to figure out what to knock off of normal x plan pricing.

Was quoted $78,593, including all applicable rebates (yet to be fully defined, don't think it includes 1st Responder $) +T and T and Fees for a Plat Max, Blue, 4X4, HD Tow, DVD and 2nd row Captains for a build. Is this what you all have experienced appears to be just shy of 7% of MSRP and 3.1% below invoice on order sheet?

If you’re at, or especially below invoice on a Platinum, you’re doing great. They’re difficult to just find. Near impossible in ideal configurations unless you order. Order times are really long... In some areas where they don’t sell that many of the big SUVs, dealers can often work a better deal for customers.

My guess is you’re buying off the lot with that price quote. If so, you can probably work a bit more off if you tell them you really don’t want the DVD entertainment system and it’s a $2K option you don’t want to pay for. If this is for a custom order, then that’s pretty good they’ll cut that much of a deal.. I would recommend not ordering with the DVD entertainment system. It’s cumbersome and generally crappy. Not worth the extra cost. But that’s just my opinion, some people seem to like it.

Thanks, it is an order and i made the mistake of not ordering my X5 with RSE, I understand the issues with the ones in the '18. Wife has sit in her GL550 and the fact that I can't sync two ipads and have the audio play through the SYNC system and my kids are 8, 6, and 4 and I don't want have them sucked into their our iDevices any more than they already are. :)

Yeah, my kids are 13 and 15. So I suppose usage and priorities are quite different. We had the entertainment system (same setup with dual headrest screens) in our ‘08 Expedition. It was great when it worked, but it was problematic with the screen on the driver’s side unit failing intermittently. We had it “fixed” several times only for it to quit working within the next 2 or 3 times of use after that. I played with the system in a 2018 Expedition and wasn’t impressed. I’d be tempted by it if I still had little ones, just for the sake of being able to start up a movie on both screens and run with it.

Where, Ted Britt, Koons? I was just down in Middleburg and almost bought one from Koons Sterling, we used to live there and I have family in Vienna. I almost went on a road trip and came back with a new ca; now that would have been cool.

Thanks for the info, I have yet to actually get to play with one in the SUV and I have TD 5 times. On the way home from a trip this weekend I had the older two with me and wife had youngest in her car. The older ones just watched an iPad I have on a mount to the front windshield and piped through the audio via a lighting cable. May just go that route. but i love the integration of the RSE in my wife's SUV
