Happy Father's Day. My Ford Expedition occasionally idles a little rough - almost like it is going to die. Then it goes back to idling normally. One thing I definitely notice is my Evap Purge Valve cycling rapidly - nonstop. I had P0443. I cleared it, but the Evap Purge Valve started cycling rapidly again after about 10 minutes of run time. Currently no codes.

I replaced the Evap Purge Valve about a year ago. I recently had to replace multiple O2 sensors due to P0131 and P0151 codes.

Any thoughts on occasional rough idle (like its about to die and then goes back to idling normally), non-stop ticking evap purge valve that is only a year old and P0443 code? I had P1450 a month ago but that cleared without issue. I also had one time several months ago where the car took a long time to start. Seems to drive fine. No noticeable gas mileage change and no power loss. I checked for vacuum leaks with propane and didn't notice any.

Do I just need to reset the PCM and let the car learn again? Not sure where to go here. I thought it was going to be a vacuum leak, but can't find it. Thanks in advance. 2015 Ford Expedition Platinum Ecoboost 4wd.

If the evaporative purge solenoid valve is ticking - something is wrong with it. I would replace it.

Did you replace it last year with an OEM Motorcraft part?

I used an aftermarket purge valve (Dorman) last year. When I disconnect its electrical plug, it stops cycling. That leads me to believe it is getting a signal to cycle. I can buy the $150 Motorcraft part and try it, but that might be an expensive way to find out the one I have works fine.
