Freeway, how much money you got? Can it be done, of course. But, at the same time, it is going to be a very expensive mod if you want something that you don't have to insert a key into the steering column. You are at a minimum looking at a computer module, a complete wiring harness, a solenoid to override the steering lock mechanism. Not to mention you will have an additional key fob on your key chain (1 for the doors, 1 to start the vehicle). If you get one that does the doors and everything, then you are looking at even more. To take a wild stab in the dark for what this will cost you, I am guestimating about $3000.

I will put it another way, I have contemplated it and based on the wiring that would need to be done and whatnot, I called it out of my league. What does that tell you?

Freeway, I'll say it like I said yesterday on FB. Cheap a$$. How much have you spent in all your other mods? Probably a lot more. Come on. Be the first. And before you say why don't I do it, I'll admit I'm a cheap a$$. haha

theres a push start for like under $1000. i know its pretty cheap. f150online they do it. you just cut a few wires and hook them up to the starter button. ill see what i can find. you just put the key to on and press the button. also if you dont want a key anymore ill see how my neighbor did his. he has a key to open the doors. after that you just press the button. haha

Panda, he wants it like his wifes altima. No key for the door or ignition. Put the the key fob in your pocket and that's it. Its a button on the door and a button to start. Just like my wifes altima. Yes Freeway, my wife has an altima to.

thanks sgtowing...it defeats the purpose if i still have to put the key in...not to mention turn it...3-stacks will be better suited for 26's...not a push start system...again...disregard

Hmmm, seeing this gives me ideas for me 1970 Charger I want to build. The only "variation" I want to this is to make it so as you tap on the glass, that door will open. I want it this way as I am planning on shaving off the door handles and would need a way to only open 1 door at a time. But then, I guess I can set it up to pop the driver's door as I walk up to the car and then use the second channel to do the passenger door. We'll have to see. All sorts of ideas now in my head.

[email protected] made my wife laugh out loud...while she was looking at me...thx a lot...lol!!!

Glad I could be of a entertainment to all. I guess I am showing my age. I never got into any of that facebook, twitter or any other crap that involved sharing my personal life. My life is between my wife and I, not for the whole world to know. I guess truck forums is about the length of my web sharing, and even with that I sometimes become uncomfortable with some. OK, I am done.

SkyJumper, I think Freeway's post was directed to me. That's why it says @SGTOWING, not @SkyJumper. I'm just being mean.

rburch, I already have a few ideas in my head. Granted, I was looking at building up a 1970 Charger with a supercharged Viper V10 under the hood (with all the computers) and then adding in the MB keyless system. needless to say, I wasn't going cheap or easy. But, I figured it would make for a great conversation starter. I was figuring something in the 800-900 hp range with no bulges in the hood. Make for a real sleeper. Keep the interior fairly plain, yet still have power windows. No need for door locks as I would be shaving the door handles. You would need the electronic key to make the doors pop open. But then, I was also thinking that I would simply take a standard keyfob for say like an F-150 and I could adapt that to make it pop the doors individually.

Trust me, I have lots of ideas floating around inside of my head. Get me a 4 button key fob and I am sure I can make it do some really neat stuff. Just a matter of knowing how to wire up key things.
