Questions on selling my 2003 Expy...

Couple of questions about selling my vehicle:

1. Is Kelly Blue Book a good indicator of what I can sell my used vehicle for? It said $5500-6100.

2. I have been told the a/c compressor is going to go out, it could happen at any time, and to just drive it till it goes out. I was told this back in May. It still works great. I can hear it clicking & whining constantly though.
Should I take $1500 off the price of what I'm selling it for, since this is how much the person will likely spend on a new one?

If they don't say anything, don't mention it. If they ask, start at a low number and negotiate. They might buy it and it could last them a year in that shape. As for price of the vehicle, look at craigslist and see what comparable expeditions have actually sold for on ebay as well.

go a little higher than what you want and list it O.B.O.... then they can "lower" your price and you still get what you want

In my experience, KBB is good for the dealer to post on the window of his vehicle so that he can boast about how he is selling it to you for "thousands under blue book!" Most of the time, KBB prices are pretty hopeful. Edmunds.com's True Market Value has proven alot more realistic for me...

I do agree that you need to look around and se what similar Expys are going for and definitely ask for me than you hope to get. Often the OBO will draw someone in and you can still end up getting what you actually want out of it.
