Little pieces of plastic are breaking off inside. Jammed the thermostat open. Didn't know how hard it is to replace.

Not bad to change depending on your skills and tools. Biggest problem is the quick connect on the lower radiator hose. Mine didn't want to release. I'm going to assume they are still using that nonsense on the other gens.

If you have had little pieces breaking off inside that caused the T/Stat to jam open I would also be concerned that those little pieces could get jammed in the heater cores or water lines and cause you more problems.
