The radio in my 2004 XLT ford expedition is fuzzy on certain stations that I used to get. I can still pick up the extremely close stations but that is all. I had no problems with it until a couple weeks ago. Nothing happened that I know of, it's just like one day the antenna signal wasn't as strong.
Same thing happened to my sons 2000 Ranger. A replacement from Crutchfield resolved the issue.
I always thought the radio reception was rather poor in my 2004 Expedition. It improved a good bit with a Kenwood replacement though. Reception is still not as good as the Ranger with it's real antenna, not some silly wire in a window like our Expeditions and most newer vehicles.
You can check the antenna wire from the passenger side rear window to the radio to see if there's any damage.
